1998 Rover Mini 1.3 Sportspack Brooklands Green Limited Edition

Rover Mini
Brooklands Green
Registration Country

Built from the 1980s all the way through 2000, this fantastic 1998 Mini Sportspack displays a rare (and well preserved) Brookland Green over dark green leather interior, a detailed mechanical restoration and a clear ownership history. Benefitting a powerful 1.3-Litre MultiPoint Injection engine, producing almost 65 bhp, this Mini is towed by the front axle, via a four-speed manual transmission. The fun part? It only weighs around 800 kg!

Considered as (perhaps) one the most iconic vehicles since the 1960s to affect a generation of car makers, it was voted in 1999 as second-most influential car of the 20th century, just after the legendary Ford Model T.

While fitting a 1’275 cc engine, rather than the previous 998cc from the ‘30s, the Sport Pack option was Mini’s effort to encourage customers to personalize their own Mini. With the production of the original Mini shape having ended at the gates of 2000, this 1998 Cooper is the perfect model of such a timeless (and compact) classic.

Incoming in a stunning limited edition paintwork, this car has been preserved from time all throughout, with reportedly refreshed mechanics and sound interiors, as one of allegedly only 75 samples made with this special trim.

This special edition Mini is presented with approximately 47’000 kms and an exclusive ‘Sport Pack’ option (‘XN32’, as coded), comprising 13”x6” Minilite-style alloy wheels, extended wheel arches, Koni dampers, auxiliary front lights, large-bore exhaust tail-pipe, green-leather interior

Finished in Brooklands Green with a white roof and bonnet stripes, the bodywork remains in good condition, with smooth panels and no signs of prior accident damage; as the vendor states, the subframe was not corroded and is defined structurally sound. The paintwork has reportedly not been resprayed. Overall, the polished front grille and door mirror covers present very well. The original Minilite-style alloy wheels, still fitted here, feature no apparent blemishes or scratches, as shown in the gallery.

Moving in, the Dark Green leather shows some normal signs of wear and creasing in line with the car’s age, just like the matching-trim gear knob and door cards, though there are no rips or tears to the upholstery. As part of Mini’s classic British heritage, the dashboard is clad in an attractive walnut wood veneer, which is still in pristine condition, like the dashboards and all the gauges and instruments. Safety is assured by a matching-trim, air-bag-supporting, steering wheel while entertainment is provided by a recent Alpine mp3 autoradio. Generally, the cabin is very smart.

Firstly registered in Italy during the first days of 1999, this Mini is currently owned since late 2021 and has been parked indoors ever since its purchase, in late 2021. Last and most recent routine maintenance was carried out at 46’000 km, including oil service and plugs replacement, as reported. The underside of the car shows no evidence of rust, as displayed in the gallery.

The vendor states the engine starts and runs perfectly. The sale of this Mini will include a pair of original keys, a pair of remote controls, user manual, service book and the certificate of ownership.
